Karl’s Big Ideas….

Whenever Karl says I have an idea“, it’s usually good to keep a hard hat and running shoes handy. But beautifying the grounds is certainly his dream come true. After 4 years of working hard and planning, he has more than every right to think big!

That’s how the trees got cut down by the adoption house. And the overgrown giant lilac bush. Not to mention those gross shrubs by the “new” door we found between the kennels and the cat house. But this one was genius- We are getting flag poles!

Yes, patriotism abounds! 3 flag poles with a small garden in the middle right by the entrance in front of the cat house. Hopefully the boy scouts will be around to help with this! Plus, in case you haven’t heard, we’re building a “Serenity Garden” to honor our founder and properly have a place to display the marble bench in her honor by the entrance to the dog park (where the giant poofy bushes have disappeared from). Karl’s full of ideas- new signs for our one way entrance/exit, the adopt-a-kennel program, and so much more!

So please check this blog to see what’s coming up and how you can help! We’ll see you at the Humane Society- you’ll recognize us- we’ll be the ones dirty and tired :) throwing mulch around!

UPDATE:: After three rounds of mulch, there’s still more to do! Karl’s been working hard to get the Adopt-a-Kennel program up & running!! Our Serenity Garden is already planned and just waiting to be constructed. Also, we’ll be making “cool down” stations for the Dog Parks with the help of our newest member: Michael C.- Welcome!  We’ll keep you updated….
